4 Tips for Pregnant Women to Still Fast in Ramadhan



Ramadan fasting is required on the believers. Muslims who have baligh are required to perform fasting from dawn to maghrib. Only sick and safe people are allowed not to fast.

So all Muslims should fast during Ramadan, as well as pregnant mothers. Whereas if in conditions of pregnancy and not doing fasting, the condition of the pregnant woman's body sometimes weak and not energized, adjust the hormones of pregnant women. Especially if pregnant women run fast, may feel more heavy.

But do not worry, pregnant women can remain fast, with some of the following tips:

1. Consumption of High Fiber Food and Balanced Nutrition
Foods that are high in fiber have the benefit of a stomach will feel full longer. Do not forget, in addition to high fiber must also have a balanced nutrition. Cultivated foods that are avoided when dawn.

When eating meal, cultivated rice, wheat bread, fruit, vegetables and fruit juice. In addition to high fiber, these foods are also nutritious. Guaranteed pregnant women will feel full longer.

When breaking the fast, avoid first eat directly with a lot of servings. Better a little bit first, like drinking water and 3 date palm seeds. Maybe after eating 3 pieces of dates, maghrib first prayer can only eat food with a portion that is necessary only. 2. Fulfill the needs of body fluids
Keep in mind that pregnant women have brought 2 lives and 2 body. So the foods that enter the body of pregnant women, also must calculate the feeding needs for prospective baby in the womb. Thus, pregnant women need more body fluids to always meet the needs of the body.

Cultivated for pregnant women who continue to fast, to multiply drinking water at dawn. So that fasting is not weak due to lack of body fluids. Actually the source of body fluids is not only contained in drinks alone, but also from fruits and vegetables. So, eating fruits and vegetables already automatically add liquid to a person's body.

3. Make Sure the Stomach Is Filled Enough
Allah SWT says:

وكلوا واشربوا ولا تسرفوا إنه لا يحب المسرفين

"Eat and drink, and do not overdo it. Lo! Allah loveth not those who exaggerate. " (Surat al-A`raaf: 31)

Everything that is excessive is not good. Including food and drink that goes into our body. Until Allah SWT prohibits His people in terms of eating and drinking excessively. It can cause uncomfortable stomach and tend to be sleepy. So he tends to be negligent with worship that should be reproduced in the month of Ramadan.

If pregnant women have a history of gastritis or mag disease should consume milk, biscuits or fruit before bed or after tarawih prayer. The goal, so that the night before the stomach meal is not too empty where this condition triggers acid rises.

4. Vitamin Consumption from Doctors
For pregnant women who regularly check to the doctor, it is definitely often a prescription to buy a complete vitamin for gynecological health. It is very important for pregnant women to consume these vitamins. Do not forget or lazy to drink it. In addition to the mother alone, the vitamin provided by the doctor is also good for fetal growth in the womb. Especially when fasting, pregnant women will lack of food intake that supports baby candidates. So taking vitamins during meal and breaking is very important for the health of mothers and baby candidates.
